Domain Transfer

Domain transfer is the process of moving your domain name from your current company to a different company. In this process, your domain name registrar changes. Additionally, internal transfers can be performed. The transfer process can be carried out to a different user within the same company. When the domain name transfer process is completed, the term of your domain name is automatically extended by 1 year.

You need a transfer code to transfer your domain name. You can obtain this code from your previous domain name provider. You can initiate the transfer process by entering your transfer code on the order screen.

Domain name transfer procedures for generic extensions (.COM, .NET, .INFO, .ORG, .BİZ, .TV) are completed within 7 to 10 days. This process is a standard procedure determined by ICANN. This process covers the time period from when the transfer procedure begins.

Your domain name must have been registered with your previous company at least 60 days prior to the transfer request, and there must be more than one month remaining until the domain name's expiration date. (This period is not mandatory.) You can transfer your domain name with these two periods. Please verify this condition with a Whois query. The domain must have no outstanding debt with the previous registrar, the administrative contact email must be active, the person requesting the transfer must be the actual owner of the domain name to be transferred, the domain status must be active (not pending deletion or locked), and the domain transfer code must be provided. This code must be requested from the previous registrar or obtained from the control panels.

Domain name transfer processes can take between 7 and 10 days. Therefore, we recommend initiating the transfer process 15 days in advance.

Domain name transfer procedures include a 1-year domain name renewal. When you transfer your domain name to Hostixo, your domain name's term is extended by 1 year, and this procedure is subject to a fee.

When you transfer your domain name to Hostixo, the remaining time from your previous provider is added to your account for an additional year. Your remaining time does not expire or decrease.

Access to your website will not be interrupted during the domain name transfer process. Only your domain name provider will change.

Technical procedures such as NS updates and WHOIS updates are not performed during the domain name transfer period. Therefore, we recommend that you complete the necessary procedures before initiating the transfer.

You can easily access the domain transfer code for your domain name at our company by logging into the Domain Management section of your customer panel. For your domain name at a different company, you will need to access it through your previous company's control panel. If you cannot find it this way, we recommend contacting the company.

ICANN stands for Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, which is the English acronym for the Turkish term “İnternet Tahsisli Sayılar ve İsimler Kurumu.” ICANN is a non-profit organization that conducts work related to domains (domain names) worldwide. ICANN distributes the rights to use top-level domain names (.com, .info, etc.) and ensures their control, but it does not deal with problems such as spam or stolen content. ICANN is more concerned with the technical problems of the internet.

The transfer can be canceled within 24 hours after it has been initiated. Unfortunately, it cannot be canceled outside of this timeframe.
